Two jobs, in detail

Edinburgh is closes, stairs, wynds and weather that changes every hour. We photograph and film whisky, wool, festivals and the people of the city, from a studio on Broughton Street. All work

Product, wool throw, heather

A distillery’s visitor centre

Bottle stills, still-house film and staff portraits for a distillery an hour north.

We shot the still house in steam and low light, with one tungsten key.

Bottles were photographed in our studio against peat and slate.

Fashion, tweed jacket, moorland

A tweed mill’s autumn line

Lookbook stills and a process film for a family mill in the Borders.

Cloth was photographed on the loom and on people out on the moor.

Asked before booking

Do you shoot stills and film on the same day?

Yes, when the plot allows. We design light that holds for a locked hero still and for coverage. If the still needs a modifier that will not travel into motion, we split the day rather than fake it.

Where are you based?

The studio and finishing suite are at Broughton Street 74, Edinburgh EH1 3SA, United Kingdom. We travel with a core crew in Europe and hire locally when the story needs it.

Can you deliver HDR and social cutdowns?

HDR masters, Rec.709, and platform cutdowns are part of finishing. We need the media plan early so aspect ratios are shot, not cropped as an afterthought.

Who owns the files?

Copyright stays with the studio until invoices are paid, then usage follows the contract (territory, term, media). Raw camera files are working material unless a raw license is bought.

How early should we book?

Four to six weeks is comfortable for a campaign with casting and locations. A stills-only studio day can be held faster if the diary is open.

Tell us about the job

Tell us about the place or the product and when you need it. We reply the same day with a plan and a price.

  1. We reply with questions or a first crew plan.
  2. A short call to agree dates, places and the media plan.
  3. An estimate with names on it, then the date is held.
